What exactly is a Name Frame?
Name Frames are unique photographic prints of names or words created from my collection of photographed letters. Each Name Frame is printed on true lustre photographic or metallic photographic paper at a professional print lab and is custom designed for your name or word. Standard size for a name frame is 10"x20".

What is Metallic paper?
Technically this is Kodak’s Professional Endura Metallic Paper which "produces unique, rich, vibrant colors with a distinctive metallic look that catches the eye".

The metallic paper creates a wonderful shimmer to the print - especially with those with vibrant colors.

What is the difference between a Name Frame and a Word Plate?
Word Plates are made from individual 4x6 prints (color or B&W) and framed under individual pieces of glass. They are all connected together into one piece. With Word Plates, you pay by the letter.

Name Frames are letters compiled in Photoshop into a single 10"x20" canvas and printed professionally onto photographic paper. Then number of images/letters does not matter, you are buying a print. This also allows for personalization of the print - names, dates, etc.

Why are Name Frames commonly sized at 10”x 20”?
Really, Name Frames can be created in any size you would like. You need a long length to height ratio to keep the letters readable.

10x20 works great for shorter names or Name Frames with wording underneath. This is a standard sized collage frame and can easily be found readymade in stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc..)

Why do you sell Name Frames unframed (print only).
First, I am not a framer and do not keep framing supplies on hand. Second, framing is expensive and shipping the framed image is even more expensive. To keep your cost down, I ship the print directly to you and let you frame it yourself.

Where do you find letters?
Everywhere. I find them on vacation, camping, and in my backyard.

But I have found that the older, rustier, and more worn the object is, the better it looks. So really, abandoned buildings and junkyards are the best!

I constantly working on new letters - nautical, sports themes, modern/urban.  And letters.

Do you ship word plates?
Yes but only within the Continental US.  Once you ship outside of the USA, the price skyrockets?

Do you ship name frames internationally?
Since name frames ship as prints only, they are relatively lightweight and do ship worldwide.  Within the US, name frames ship via USPS Priority Mail, outside of the USA they ship via First Class Mail.  Name frame are shipped rolled in a sturdy shipping tube - this seems to be the safest way to survive shipping!
